

Whenever a new staff joins, the following Orientation Program is provided to familiarize him/her with the system of the College and the operations and functions of the department and/or section he/she will be assigned.
The new staff, upon arrival, meets the Dean, the AD for Academics, and the Head of the concerned Department and/or Section. The Head of Department or Head of Section takes the new staff around the College and introduces him/her to other administration staff. He then explains the rules and regulations of the College to the new staff and provides him/her with the College calendar.
The concerned Head of Department (or Section) introduces the new staff to the other staff of the unit. He then explains the functions of the department/section, its timing schedule, and rules & regulations for using the various facilities in the unit. The Head afterwards describes the job which the new staff is to carry out, including the responsibilities that go with it.
The Head of the Department/Section explains about the discipline that needs to be maintained by the staff while doing his/her work. He also explains about the misuse of facilities and equipment present there, as well as the safety measures to be taken while working in laboratories and workshops.
