Working at NCT

The Nizwa College of Technology (NCT) is a public higher educational institution in the Sultanate of Oman operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Manpower. The College caters the young technological students from Nizwa and other nearby areas in the Dakhliya region.

Currently, the College has approximately 2,500 students and 200 staff. There are four major academic departments and a number of technical and administrative support services.

NCT offers ladderized courses and awards Certificate,  Diploma and High Diploma qualifications in approximately fifteen (15) study/specialization areas.

Regular teaching load of staff is from 15 to 18 hours per week (residency of 35 hrs.), class sizes vary from 15 to 25 students, and normal working hours is from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Saturdays to Wednesdays.

Regular faculty development trainings and seminars are provided through the Educational Technologies Centre, and attendance to external courses and trainings, as well as various certification exams, are provided to committed staff. The College administration encourages staff to do research and delve into publishing their works, and a culture of research is slowly being nurtured in the College.
