

The Higher College of Technology in Muscat is one of the six colleges under the Ministry of Manpower, Oman.The Ministry of Manpower has five Regional Colleges of Technology in Oman, located variously in Musanna, Nizwa, Ibra, Salalah, and Shinas and one Higher College of Technology in Muscat.
The Regional Colleges of Technology were started in 1993 except the one in Shinas, which was started in 2005. The Muscat Industrial Technical College was started in 1984 at the initiative of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to educate the citizens of Oman by implementing high quality programs in various fields'. The college was renamed and upgraded as Higher College of Technology in 2001.
It is the only college under the Ministry of Manpower that offers Higher Diploma Programs and Bachelor Degrees in various streams. The Regional Colleges of Technology offers up to the Diploma Program.
Salalah College of Technology is one of the five Colleges of technology established in the Sultanate of Oman. The College is working under the Directorate general of Technological Education, Ministry of Manpower. It is located in Al-Saadah, facing the Salalah - Thumrait Road, about six kilometers from Salalah Center.
The main objective of the college is to train Omani youth and qualify them to take up employment in the public and private sectors of the economy and to pursue Omanization.
The College offers Diploma course in various fields of specialization such as Business Engineering, Construction and Information Technology, additionally is the English Foundation courses. All Students are required to pass the one-year English Foundation Course and are admitted to the 2-year Diploma course of their choice.
This college was established in 1993, after changing the Vocational Training Institute into Ibra Technical Industrial College.
In 2001, the name of the college was changed to Ibra College of Technology.
Thus, it has international specifications and standards of a higher educational and training institution, which offers practical and field training to its students.
The College is located in Al Yahmadi, Wilayat, Ibra in the Eastern Province in Oman. It is about 160 kms. from Muscat.
Ibri College of Technology is the seventh College of Technology administered and financed by the Ministry of Manpower in Oman. It is located in Ibri, which is a thriving small town in the south west of the country. The College has an ambitious plan to serve the local community and to boost its economy.
Admission to the College began in September 2007 and the total enrolment stands at 637 students, 33 percent female; 67 percent male. In the academic year 2008-2009 the College will be the home of no less than 1500 students. This expansion is accompanied with the provision of more facilities and more student services. Already, work has begun on phase two of the College's project which involves the construction of the Engineering building.
Faculty members total 37 at present and the College is recruiting a similar number in the first semester alone of the coming academic year. Our staff requirement includes English teachers and IT, Engineering and Business Studies lecturers. Native English teachers who are enthusiastic about communicative teaching and keen on using modern technologies will find Ibri CT the right place to work. Lecturers of other subjects, especially those with industrial experience, are most welcome here.

Shinas College of Technology was founded in September 2005. The campus is located at Al-Aqr, on the northern outskirts of Shinas. It is about six kilometers from the city center on the road to Dubai that links the Sultanate and the United Arab Emirates.
The College started with the English Language Centre (ELC) which qualifies students to pursue Certificate in Engineering ,Certificate in Information Technology and Certificate in Business. ELC provides a level-based English language program for all students admitted to the College. The program is specifically designed to improve the students' study skills as well as general abilities to communicate in English. A placement test is administered to all students so they can be placed in Elementary, Intermediate, or Advanced. Exceptional students may skip the Foundation Year.
