New Equipment in Physics Laboratory

The Physics Laboratory under the Engineering Department has recently acquired several new equipment and instruments to enhance teaching delivery and instruction. These instruments include: Thermal Radiation System and Stefan-Boltzmann Lamp for the study of heat radiation effects; Speed-Collision Smart Timer for recording time up to 4 decimal places and for measuring parameters in collision and velocity experiments; Free Fall System for determining the gravitational acceleration or "g" value for various objects at different altitudes, and this Free Fall apparatus is connected to a powerful computer with a Science-Workshop 750 Interface and Data Studio Software for accuracy and verification of results.

Other new equipment and instruments consist of Basic Electrostatic System and Electrometer for the study of electrostatics; Van de Graff Generator for demonstrating the production of charges; Resonance Tube, Sonometer, Hand Crank Generator, Permanent Magnet Motor, Series/ Parallel Circuit, Charge and Equipotential Field Mapper. These above-mentioned instruments have been installed in the Engineering Science Laboratory (ESL), and students have already used them in several relevant experiments.
