Farewell to a Legend

Michael Kamalesh     12-11-2013

The ongoing cricket series between India and West-Indies will be the final whistle for a legend of our times. Sachin Tendulkar, arguably the world?s best cricketer, will be hanging his boots to bid adieu to the game which brought laurels not only for him, but to his country and countrymen as well.

An icon to cricket fans all over the world, the ?Man with a Golden Arm? is a record holder of many-a-record in the annals of cricket. One of his die-hard fans once held a placard inside the cricket arena, which states:?If cricket is our religion, Sachin is our God?. Thomas Alva Edison rightly said, ?Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration?. If cricket aficionados call Sachin a genius, it?s because of his dedication, determination, commitment, discipline, hard work and his passion for the game.

A friend of mine who recently left Oman to return to India for good named his first born son 'Sachin' in fond adoration and admiration of this living legend. It is really an understatement to say that cricket fraternities all over the world are going to miss this incredible personality named Sachin Tendulkar.

Thanks, farewell and goodbye to the little master blaster.
