An illustrious and industrious career of the most loved teacher of India came to an end on 27th, July, 2015. Affectionately called,‘The Missile man of India’. Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, the former President of India was born as the youngest of five children of a Muslim boat owner in Rameshwaram,TamilNadu,India.
As the saying goes, “Great things are achieved from humble beginnings”. Kalam grew up in humble surroundings. In order to help his father he distributed newspapers. With sheer dedication, commitment, hard work and sacrifice he rose up to the highest position of being the President of India.
Kalam was a life-long bachelor. He was also a noted author, who had penned many books. After leaving the President’s office, he served the youth sharing his knowledge, wisdom and experience. He inspired and motivated them to dream high.
He remained active until the last day of his life. He died of cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong.
