ISACA’s First Officially recognized Student Group in Oman

ISACA is an international professional association focused on IT governance. ISACA is a nonprofit, independent association that advocates for professionals involved in information security, assurance, risk management and governance.

Muscat chapter was established in 2000 under the sponsorship of the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) which is affiliated to the Central Bank of Oman. The chapter has a membership of 300+ members today. The chapter membership also mirrors the diversity of its parent body. The chapter’s mission is to promote education for the CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CSX & COBIT certifications, spread awareness of IT Goverenance, Risk, IS audit and controls, provide a framework for regular meetings and interaction amongst local IS audit and control professionals, thereby helping in raising standards and promoting best practices to manage Information technology effectively in their organizations.This chapter is run by volunteers who are ISACA members nominated through ISACA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

NCT-ISACA Student Group encourages education beyond the classroom by allowing students to network and learn from each other, and connect with a supportive group of professionals. The Student Group gives students the opportunity to get to know about ISACA. Various events could be conducted by the College ISACA group and the local chapter, through these events, students benefit are enormous.

Graduate students from Networking and E-Security, Department of Information Technology, Nizwa College of Technology have come forward to initiate the NCT ISACA Student Group (NCT-ISG) inside the premises. Through this Group, Students will develop a forum for learning beyond classroom; they gain leadership opportunities, added value while placement recruitment, and most imperative they get to connect with local chapter professionals.
