Two Day Renewable Energy Training Program Concluded at NCT

On 14 February 2017, at Nizwa College of Technology, the dedication of a renewable energy project with a training program funded by the British Petroleum Company and executed by Nafath Renewable Energy LLC., as part of their efforts to support the community, was held at 12noon in Jibreen hall. Around 60 engineering students and 8 staff who had completed the full 2 day training program were awarded the certificates.

This equipment sponsor cum training program covers the two important sources of renewable energy which are solar and wind energies in hybrid mode. The set up comes with a smart power management system with on and off grid option as well. In the two day training program, basic concepts related to the load calculation, design and selection of the components along with the safety features and connection and installation procedures were covered and were well appreciated by the trainees.

During the awarding ceremony, Dr.Khalfan Al Masruri, the Assistant Dean for the academic affairs of NCT delivered the welcome speech and Mr.Shabib Al Maamari, Communications & External Affairs Manager, C&EA of British Petroleum, addressed the gathering. Mr.Abdullah Al Saidi, CEO of Nafath Renewable Energy, made a video presentation on their company Mustadeem program. The event was well attended by the staff and students of the Nizwa College of Technology.
