Staff Development Unit of the Engineering Department organized a training program titled “Load Flow Analysis using Power Factory Software” for the Electrical & Electronics Section on 12th October 2017. Mr.J.Fakrudeen, Engineering Coordinator for SDU, welcomed the gathering of around 20 staff who attended the program. Mr.N.Murali, Lecturer/Engineering and Mr.Sharath Reddy, Technician /Engineering conducted the workshop.
Digsilent PowerFactory software is easy to use and caters for all standard power system analysis needs, including high-end applications in new technologies such as wind power and distributed generation and the handling of very large power systems. In addition to the stand-alone solution, the Power Factory engine can be smoothly integrated into GIS, DMS and EMS supporting open system standards. The load flow Analysis is important tool for the study of power system. The power flow analysis is exhibited using the power factory software. The power factory software has three basic steps they are i) drawing the power system network, ii) entering the data for power system components and iii) finally the program is executed for detailed results.
The training turned out to be a very useful exercise for all the Electrical & Electronics staff.
