A short talk was organized by Huawei Tech Investment (Oman) LLC to explain about the ICT Skills Competition - Middle East 2017 on Monday 2nd October 2017 in the Meeting room for the IT Department students. The resource person, Mr. Malik Al Wahebe, Director of Public Relation, Huawei Tech Investment (Oman) LLC, explained that this competition will be one of its kind especially because it will be conducted for all Middle East countries. Oman being categorized as a separate entity, the scope of getting selected is high.
He also told the students that the competition will have 3 phases and a student can participate if he/she registers for it. He further explained the topics and the levels of exams that will be included in the competition.
Mr. Malik Wahebe added that the final round will be held in China and students who reach that level will have many more additional benefits apart from the prizes.
The IT Department HoD, Dr. Rolando Lontok, and HoS, Ms. Alice Lontok, put in all their efforts to gather as many students as possible so that a large number of students could benefit from this talk.
Many students asked questions about various doubts they had and they were satisfied with the explanations given by Mr. Wahebe.
The talk ended with a note of appreciation from the resource person who pointed out that he could see a lot of enthusiasm among students and wished that maximum number of students would register for the competition.
