The students and staff members of Oil & Gas visited Integrated Petroleum Service Company (Gulf Energy) on 8th of March 2018. The visit started with brief safety rules and regulation, procedures to be followed during the visit.
Students were exposed to see the Coil Tube unit which is used for stimulation purpose to regain the well lost productivity. Staff from the company explained the working process of the unit, pumping unit, control cabin accessories, pumps, connection required for the unit for the job.
Later valves used in Oil Industry along with Nitrogen Unit is shown to then which is used for well activation purpose. After that students were taken to Chemical storage unit and they were made aware of various Hazards, how to prepare MSDS, various chemical needed to perform well stimulation job.
Functioning of Blow Out Preventer is explained to then in details and students could see the internal feature of BOP-Rams along with Mud filtration unit.
In the end student got exposure to see the Chemical Laboratory were testing of chemicals, mixing is done before sending it to field for operation.
