On April 2nd, 2018 a three members team from Math Section, Dr. Khalifa Zayed al Shaqsi (HOS, Math section), Dr. D. Prabhakara Reddy and Dr. Moazzam Arif visited Sultan Qaboos University to attend and present a paper in “The International Conference on Operations Research and its Applications” organized by Oman Mathematics Committee on the occasion of first annual research gathering.
The Opening Ceremony started at 9:00 am and the first plenary talk was presented by Dr. EKKEHARD Sachs, University of Trier, Germany on the topic “The Nonlocal spatial Ramsey Model with Endogenous Productivity Growth: Modelling the Nonlocal impact of distant neighbors”. The talk gave us a lot of knowledge about the current research in different fields of Optimization.
The afternoon session started with the second Plenary talk by Dr. Reza Travakkoli –Moghaddam, University of Tehran, Iran on the topic “Routing issues in Transportation: Background and challenges”. In this session, Dr. Moazzam Arif, Lecturer in Maths presented a paper on “An algorithm to solve linear plus linear Fractional Capacitated Transportation Problem with Enhanced Flow”.
We enjoyed the day with great exposure to the eminent scholars in the field of Operations Research and learned a lot by the valuable interactions with them about their research experiences.
