On Wednesday, 16 May at 10am in Adam Hall, “Glasspoint innovation Spur Program” presentation had been organized by the engineering department, on the initiative of Dr.Khalifa Al Shaqsi (NCT Research committee head) to create an entrepreneurial awareness among the engineering students.
This was part of an engineering industrial link committee activity. Ms.Rumaitha Al Busaidi, Communications Manager for Middle East, Glass Point and Ms.Alla Said Al Habsi, Social Investment Specialist and Data Analyst are the guests of the day. Ms.Rumaitha made the presentation after the welcome address of Dr.Saravanan P., the head of the engineering department.
In the presentation, it was explained, how the GlassPoint in coordination with The Research Council (TRC), Innovation Park Muscat (IPM), Public Authority for SME Development (Riyada) and Sharakah, offering the first-of-its-kind incubator to contribute and sustainably drive innovation within Oman’s renewable energy and water management sectors. This program is inviting applications from the Omani headed teams to start their entrepreneurial venture based on their prototype projects in the field of renewable energy and water management. The program will provide the incubation for their startup, if selected.
The event ended at 11am with a presentation of gift to the guest and the distribution of souvenirs to the attendees.
