An Industrial visit to “Petroleum development of Oman (PDO)”, Mina Al Fahal, Al Qurum, Muscat was organized by the Human resource section of Business Studies Department on Wednesday, 13th November 2019. Twenty six HR students and a HR faculty member Dr. Mohammed Kutpudeen visited to PDO, to gain the industrial practices and perspective on different HR functions of PDO.
Mr. Mohammed Al Saadi, Government Relations Officer has welcomed the students and staff in the ‘Knowledge World’ at 10:15 a.m. Four PDO Experts have enlightened the students by offering lectures on the following topics:

In this visit students were interacted with the experts after each presentation. All the sessions offered was very informative for the students. Many of the students asked different questions to the experts on current demanding skills, industrial requirements, operational practices etc. and they clarified all the queries and misconceptions which were there in their mind about the HR practices. Students were satisfied on all the sessions.
Moreover, the experts shared with many ideas to find jobs in the petroleum sector of Oman as is heavily relying on talented human resources. Students were also advised to improve their skills in line with the industrial requirement. Overall, the visit was very informative, interesting and a successful. As students of Human resource, they understand a real world practices of HR. At the end of the programme, Dr. Mohammed Kutpudeen has presented the compliment to Mr. Mohammed Al Saadi on behalf of Nizwa College of Technology as a token of appreciation.
PDO offered a delicious and healthy lunch to all participants. The visit came to an end at 2.00 p.m. Finally, we left the premises at 2.10 p.m. after taking a group photos with Mr. Mohammed Al Saadi, Government Relations Officer. We safely returned back to the college at 4:20 p.m
