BSD extends faculty development training to India, 8-Nov-2021, Nizwa.

The Business Studies Department (BSD) remain steadfast in its commitment to reach out to the society by extending learning through trainings, workshops and other educational programs. These initiatives, while mostly are made designed for the local community, it can also cater to wider audiences such as the international community.
Such is the case on November 1, 2021 when one of the lecturers of the HR Section of the BSD, Dr. Sangeetha Natarajan delivered a webinar for an International Faculty Development Programme organized by Tiruppur Kumaran College for Women, a quasi-government educational institution based in India. In this engagement, Dr. Sangeetha spoke about the ever-changing roles of educators through her talk entitled Teacher, Trainer, Transformer- Revisiting Strategies for Instructional Innovators.
In her talk, Dr. Sangeetha addressed the transformations happening in the education sector and laid impetus on the necessity of being instructional innovators, the need of including various techniques in teaching and learning process and other influential factors to learning. She elaborated the psychology behind students learning process fused with the essentialities of being instructional innovators. Around 150 faculty members from various higher educational institutions (HEI’s) in India participated the program. The program ended up successfully with active participation of the attendees who were highly-engaged during the program. This was attested by the positive feedback from the attendees.
