The BSD Risk Management Committee organized a short workshop about the Risk Management System of UTAS- Nizwa last February 1, 2022. This was conducted in coordination with the BSD Staff Development Unit (SDU). The workshop, which was predicated on the idea that risk management is everyone’s responsibility, was attended by the BSD faculty members who joined from 2018 to December 2021.

The program was hosted by Ms. Rajani James, the BSD-SDU coordinator. No less than the BSD-HoD, Ms.Nahid Al Shukaili, graced the event with her welcoming remarks. In her speech, she emphasized on the importance of risk management given that we are surrounded by different risks which may potentially have an impact on the university’s operations. Dr. Edwin Premkumar, one of the BSD-SDU members explained the objectives of the program.

Dr. Prabhakaran D. of the Engineering Department was the resource speaker for the event. In the initial parts of the workshop, he gave a short background discussion about risk management and later on, explained how to use the university’s risk management system.

The program was formally ended through a vote of thanks which was extended by Ms. Maria Vidal, the
BSD Risk Management Committee Representative.
