In consonance with the details of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by UTAS-Nizwa and University of Nizwa, the BSD Research and Consultancy Committee (RCC) and CE//IS of University of Nizwa organized a Workshop on Research Proposal Writing for the students pursuing senior projects. This was held last Feb 9, 2022 at the Adam Hall, UTAS-Nizwa.

The resource person was Dr. Essia Ries Ahmed, Assistant Professor from the Department of Accounting, University of Nizwa. The program aimed to prepare the senior project students to develop a project proposal through a hand-on exercise in research writing.

The program was formally opened by Dr. Mohammed Kutpudeen, BSD-RCC coordinator who delivered the welcome note and prayer. This was followed by a keynote address by Ms. Nahid Al Shukaili, BSD-HoD. In her speech, Ms. Nahid encouraged the participants to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the workshop to hone their research writing skills. Ms. Hajar Al Nabhani, HoS- Human Resource Management, resonated the same message in her welcoming speech.

Through the 2-hour program, Dr. Essia systematically explained the steps involved in project proposal writing, using google scholar to build literature review, citing research articles to write the introduction and statement of the problem, method of writing references, and the importance of teamwork in the preparing the whole report.

At the end of the program, Dr. Sangeetha T.R. the BS0 RCC member, extended the vote of thanks to the esteemed speaker,Dr. Essia, Dr. Abdullah Al Abri, Chairman RCC UTAS-N, Ms. Nahid Al Shukaili, HoD-BSD, the management of UTAS-Nizwa and University of Nizwa, faculty members and the students.
