Through the initiative of Dr. Shamshuddin Khutbuddin of the HR Section and their HoS Ms. Hajar al Nabahani, a webinar on blockchain technology was held last 9th of March 2022. This was conducted in MS Teams and was moderated by Dr. Shamshuddin.

The webinar was graced by the presence of the HoD of the BSD, Ms. Nahid al Shukaili. In her speech, she laid impetus on how organizations of today adopt to cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain and how companies all over the world need to keep up and take advantage of these technologies.

The webinar was received well by the audience as it was delivered by one of the top 40 blockchain technology influencers in India, Mr. Varun Singhi. Mr. Singhi, is the Head of Strategy of Aquarius Exchange, India and is an alumnus of the MIT Sloan and one of the authors of the book Blockchain Consortiums.

Mr. Singhi’s 15 year global experience in technology showed its evidence in the delivery of his talk. After giving a simplified discussion about the rudiments and history of blockchain, he showed how this technological breakthrough may be used across different industries.

He further noted however, that there are some misconceptions and false expectations about this technology and cautioned users about this matter.
The talk lasted for 45 minutes. The audience was given time to ask their questions thereafter.
