Smart Automation System using Internet of Things (IoT) , Workshop conducted on 11th March 2022

Information Technology Department had always believed in sharing knowledge on different platforms nationally and internationally. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Duhai Al Shukaili, Head of IT Department, the department has continuously extended the technical support and research motivational activities to the society through different seminars, workshops, webinars, and training sessions. These activities have always been a motivation for its ITD staff in engaging national and international participation.

Dr. Jehan Murugadhas, Networking/Internet and E-Security Section, Information Technology Department, had been recently invited as a resource person by Government Arts College, Udumalpet, Tamilnadu, India on 11th March 2022 to conduct a webinar on the topic of “Smart Automation System using Internet of Things (IoT)”.

Dr. Jehan Murugadhas explained the technical concepts of smart automation systems and the building blocks of the Internet of Things (IoT) such as sensors, actuators, and controllers. He shared the connectivity procedures of IoT components and power consumption methodologies to operate smart real-time devices.

Dr. Jehan also demonstrated the working procedures of a smart automation system with respect to the Smart Industrial Applications using a motion sensor, IoT-based smart lights, Ceiling fans, automatic door lock, and water sprinkler using the Cisco Packet Tracer tool, Arduino microcontrollers, and Arduino IDE software.
