As a part of its curricular activities for Entrepreneurship, the Entrepreneurship lecturers and students organized a the 8th BSD Entrepreneurship Exhibit last 22nd March 2022 at the Innovation Square, UTAS-Nizwa.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Ishaq Al Shariyani, a renowned motivational speaker in Oman. Also in attendance was the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Hafedh Al Busaidi, Ms. Nahid Al Shukaili, HoD – BSD and the Entrepreneurship course lecturing team and academic and non-academic staff from the different departments in the university.

The event featured a business canvass competition and product sales demonstration skills competition. During the business canvass competition, entrepreneurship students presented their innovative product ideas. A total of 9 groups participated in this competition and were evaluated on criteria such as novelty of the idea, technical feasibility, marketing feasibility, usefulness and the presenter’s communication skills.

In the product sales demonstration skills competition, around 56 groups of students participated selling variety of products. These groups were evaluated by the concerned tutors on criteria such as out pricing, promotion, product merchandising, packaging and communication.

The aim of this activity was to encourage the students to come up with their creative ideas and develop team building, leadership, communication, negotiation, marketing and finance management skills and most importantly their entrepreneurship skills.
