Information Technology Department under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Duhai Al Shukaili, conducted a workshop "Server Administration using Oracle Virtual Box” - A Hands-on-Session to enhance the skill set of IT department faculty members.
Mrs. Sonia V. Soans, Coordinator, SDU-ITD, introduced Dr. Jehan Murugadhas and highlighted the purpose of the event to the audience and its applicability in the field of Information Technology.
Dr. Jehan Murugadhas took over the session and explained the concepts of virtualization and the roles of the server in business organizations and academic institutions. He explained the different services of Microsoft Server 2019 using Oracle Virtual Box. He demonstrated the services of Web Server and customized webpage launching procedures using Internet Information Services (IIS) of Microsoft.
Dr. Jehan Murugadhas, demonstrated the installation and activation procedures of Active Directory & Domain Services (ADDS) using Windows Server 2019. He also demonstrated how to create a new user profile and policy enabling procedures under the DNS Server. He further explained the connectivity procedures of client machines using Windows 10 Pro to Windows Server 2019.
