University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Nizwa. The Business Studies Department commenced its celebration of the International Human Resources Day on Sunday, May 22, 2022. The program kicked-off with an online talk series entitled Demystifying HR which run from 10:00-11:30am of the same day. The event was organized by Dr. Shamsuddin Khuthbuddin, one of the core faculty member of the HR Section.

The occasion was formally opened by Ms. Nahid Al Shukaili, Head opf Department– Business Studies, while Ms. Hajar Al Nabhani, HR Head of Section delivered the welcome address to the guest speakers and the attendees.
The event featured three speakers from three different industries based outside of Oman. Mr. Shubam Tripathi is the HR Senior Manager of Zee Media Corp., India, Mr. Sriram Iyer is the founding CEO of HRTech.SG, which is based in Singapore and Mr. Poovanan is the Deputy General Manager of TVS Electronics, India.

The speakers centered on most recent developments in the field of Human Resources Management and enlightened students’ skepticisms about this field. During the hour-long session, the talking points revolved around redefining HR (management) on an industry perspective for Generation Alpha, hybrid work culture-its future and the challenges it potentially brings, HR Technology and how to prepare Generation Alpha for future challenges and HR in the next decade and what students must unlearn to learn.

Nearly 100 students and staff from BSD attended this event and have given a positive feedback about the same.
