The Industrial and Community Linkage Committee (ICLC) of the IT Department and Nizwa Hospital, jointly organized a one-day awareness training on “Cybersecurity” on 8th December 2022 at Nizwa Hospital premises.
The training program is aimed to increase the awareness of protecting data that is found in electronic form (such as computers, servers, networks, mobile devices, etc.) from being compromised or attacked. Cybersecurity involves identifying what the critical data is, where it resides, its risk exposure, and the technology you have to implement in order to protect it.
The session started with welcome greetings from Dr.Said Abdullah Al Broumi, Assistant Director, Nizwa Hospital. Dr.Said emphasizes the protection of information and information systems from unauthorized access, and the importance of confidentiality, integrity, and availability in this information era.
The training was conducted by Dr. Nasser Al Hadhrami, Senior Lecturer at IT Department – Networking and E-security Section, UTAS-Nizwa. The session was conducted in the Arabic language. A team of 20 enthusiastic medical staff of Nizwa Hospital participated in this training. The session was very interactive and fruitful.
The session was concluded with supporting and motivational words from Dr. Khalifa Al Shaqsi, Hospital Director to the participants.
