The Research and Consultancy Committee (RCC) of the College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA) organized a seminar entitled “Publishing your own book: A seminar for aspiring authors” last 7th February 2023 in Room B113 of the BSD Building, UTAS Nizwa.

The seminar participants were the faculty members of the CEBA. The program was graced by the welcome remarks of the RCC Coordinator, Dr. Mohammed Kutpudeen. The resource person was introduced by Dr. Edwin Premkumar, a member of RCC. The resource person was Dr. Mohammad Dulal Miah, Head of Economics and Finance Department, University of Nizwa. Dr. Miah has an extensive experience in publishing research and monolithic works in highly reputable publishers such as Routlege and Cambridge University Press.

The program aimed to share the importance of publishing a book and the various processes involved in it. Through the seminar, Dr. Mohammad Dulal thoroughly explained the steps involved in publishing.

Along with the processes, the practical issues in writing a book, challenges in peer review, choosing a press or publication, single and co-authorship advantages and disadvantages and managing the work and research were also tackled.

Ms. Hajar Al Nabhani, the CEBA Head of Department (HoD) presented a certificate and memento to the resource person as a token of appreciation. At the end of the program, Dr. Renjith Kumar, a member of RCC gave a closing remarks and vote of thanks.
